Hi, we are Jack and Joyce Weddle, the new Nevada District
Educators. We started riding motorcycles before we were married 41 years ago.
We have ridden all types of motorcycles and with many different groups of
people. Without a doubt we have found what we believe to be the best group
possible, GOLDWINGERS. GWRRA members ride for Fun and they actually care about
Safety and Knowledge. We want to thank Nevada Chapter-A for making our first
year in GWRRA a very pleasant one. We were honored when at the District Rally
in Ely, Fred Wilson and Roz Adams, District Directors and Tom and Barbara
Jefferies Regional Educators ask us if we would be interested in volunteering
for the District Educators position. We accepted the position and will do our
best to make the Nevada District one of the best educated and up to date
Districts in Region-F.
GWRRA Nevada Riders
Education Program
PURPOSE
The GWRRA Rider Education Levels Program is intended to
make the motorcycle environment safer by reducing injuries and fatalities by
increasing motorcycle skills and awareness through education and training. The
Rider Education Levels Program does not propose to have all the answers.
However, our close-working relationship with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation
(MSF), as well as additional GWRRA programs and studies, has provided a wealth
of information for use in establishing a comprehensive Rider Education Levels
Program. Through Commitment, Education and Preparedness we
can reduce our accident rate significantly. Thus we do our part to aid in
Membership
retention.
MISSION
TO SAVE LIVES THROUGH QUALITY WORLD
CLASS EDUCATION
SHORT TERM GOALS
Our immediate goals for the Nevada District are to get all
Chapters current in the riders Education Levels Program starting with Level I
Commitment. Also to upgrade Level II Education and Level III Preparedness for
members that have taken education courses at rallies or other functions.
Also to have each Chapter set up and maintain a regular
Training/Safety function such as Q & A or talk at Chapter meeting once a month.
Or follow the example of our chapter E Sierra Eagles with a safety social every
month. Basically, any monthly function to promote Safety and or Training.
LONG TERM GOALS
Long term goals will include keeping everyone current with
their Levels and Course requirements and advance in the Levels Program as often
as possible. This will be done by offering courses and classes in our local
areas as often as possible. We will also be looking for members that would like
to become Instructors, Trainers and or Seminar presenters. We will provide
Trainers and Instructors and information on what it takes, where you have to go
and when classes are available.
WE WILL ASSIST YOU ANY WAY WE CAN TO GET YOU TRAINED
FOR ANY LEVELS OR TRAINING POSITION YOU DESIRE.
